Looking for a simple yet super-fun craft for Easter? You just found it – the Easter finger puzzle!
These adorable Easter Finger Puzzles are perfect to make with your own kids at home or in a classroom. They would also be great to hand out to kids at a church sunrise breakfast on Easter morning or slipped into an Easter basket to remind your kids of the true meaning of Easter. These printables can be printed in full color or black and white (allowing kids to color their own.)
These finger puzzles feature words to spell on the outside, numbered pictures on the next layer, Bible-related questions about Easter to answer, and Bible verses about Jesus’ resurrection on the inside. The puzzles are available in CSB, ESV, KJV, NASB, NIV, and NKJV Bible versions.
The outside squares feature Easter words or phrases to spell while opening and closing the finger puzzle in different directions.
The second layer of triangles features adorable pictures and numbers to choose from. Children can then open and close the finger puzzle in different directions counting up to the number chosen.
Finally, children can choose a number from 1 to 4, open the flap, and answer the corresponding question or read the verse. The questions and verses are all about Jesus’ death and resurrection – reminding kids of the true meaning of Easter.
To play, have your child insert their thumb and index finger from each hand into the flaps in the back. Open and close the finger puzzle in different directions as you spell one of the words from the outer layer. Then, pick a picture from the inside. Open and close the finger puzzle the number of times indicated on the picture you chose. Choose one more image. Open that flap and choose a number from one to four. Read the verse or question from the chosen number.

Thanks for commenting, Angela! I do try to avoid using pictures of Jesus Christ Himself on my crafts. I don’t want to influence how kids (and we ourselves) view Jesus Christ. The instructions for the finger puzzle come from the Christmas finger puzzle – but the puzzles fold in exactly the same way. This is so awesome!!!!!! And THANK YOU SOOOOOOO MUCH for making different scripture choices. So many things I pass by bc they are not KJV, and I understand why some people don't like it but for our family and church it is the only one we use. So this limits things b/c very few people us it any more , so thank you again.

I am delighted to find this puzzle. I am a volunteer at a women's prison, but we have not been able to visit our ladies and do Bible studies with them in person for a year due to covid19.
The other volunteers and I send them letters each month. However, I run out of chatty things to say, so I have begun including Bible lessons and an activity sheet. I know that the ladies will your thoroughly enjoy finger activity because it is so cute and they will share it with others and spread some much needed joy and love.

Love this!! I’m using it for my children’s choir while we are on stay-at-home – printed off enough copies and mailing them to each family – hope to do a Zoom meeting when they get their finger puzzles assembled.
With us not being able to gather, we are making “Church in a box” for Holy week.
We will deliver boxes to all of our families with Holy week activities, sermon notes, palms, candles (Thursday) communion “to go kits” etc. Then when they tune in on fb live they will have what they need to participate. And some fun things for he week.

We are having an Egg Hunt for the young kids at our church & community. I think it would be great for us to print some of these to include in the treat bags for the kids to take home or else to help the kids cut out and fold and show them how to use them with each other while the eggs are being hid. I am sharing with the children who attend church on Easter Sunday.
Hopefully I can find an egg to fit the folded puzzle in for my 2 and 4 year old! Then I printed a second one for my nieces and nephews. This year our eggs will contain less candy and more pieces telling the real Easter story. So excited to see how they will have fun learning the real reason we celebrate! Looking forward to checking back at Christmas for some Christ-centered ideas!

Found your site through Pinterest, and I really appreciate having something that clearly talks about the Biblical perspective of Easter. I am the homeroom parent for my son’s 2nd grade classroom in a Christian school, but the Easter party is left up to parents. Because I am a pastor as well (but with adults, not kids) I have gone searching every year for what to do with 20 kids but not a lot of money for supplies. This is perfect! Can’t wait to do it this week.

I am so excited to use this with my class of elementary-aged girls! I never really knew how to do the cootie catcher back in school 🙂 I think I understand how to play it, though. I’m thinking about modifying the game so that the child always has to choose 1 or 2 before lifting the flap, and have 1 and 2 always be the questions. Unless there’s a better way to play? Thank you so much for making it!
That would be a great way to play it Tori. Plus, the verses on the inner flaps have the answers to the questions 1 & 2, so if someone is not sure of the answer, they can read the verse. I don’t think there is a “wrong” way to play these. May God bless you!

I’ve been looking for the craft I will do at our church’s Easter Egg Hunt. This finger puzzle looks like a good craft.

In my year of teaching mixed age beginning readers in Sunday school I’ve learned that if it’s a game and we play it often the retention is great so I’m always looking for new ‘games’ or tools. I took this to class on Sunday and in playing it asked what other topics could it be used for and out of the mouth of babes came “Ten Commandments”. So while ther are only 8 triangles we mocked on up using two interior squares. The other suggestion was the 12 disciples-4 too many vs spaces but I’m going to try using the four interior squares.
Since you asked for comments thought I’d share ideas my kids mentioned.

I love these but can’t find folding instructions
Kathy, the folding directions are in a PDF Download. If you scroll down to the last finger puzzle picture, you will see some large brown links – Easter Finger Puzzle Black and White, Easter Finger Puzzle Full Color, and Finger Puzzle Folding Directions. Click on “Finger Puzzle Folding Directions” to download and print the directions (if desired). I had to do it this way because, no matter how many times I fold something by myself at home, as soon as I stand up in front of my class, I completely forget how to fold it. I need the printed instructions right in front of me. Thankfully, one of my 4rth grade boys is great at origami, so I usually defer to him. Lol.
I will be using these in a couple of weeks for ages 4 to 12. I will let you know the overall response. I will try them out on my kiddos first and see their response. My 7 year old boy loves to make these! Thanks for sharing.
