As teachers and homeschool parents, we know how challenging it can be to keep kids engaged while reviewing lessons. Sometimes, even the most exciting material can feel like a chore. But what if there were a way to make lesson review fun, interactive, and something your kids actually look forward to?

Introducing Leopards Vs. Lizards, a simple yet exciting Bible lesson review game that transforms any review session into an exciting competition!

What is Leopards Vs. Lizards?

Leopards Vs. Lizards is a printable lesson review game designed for 1st–4th graders. It follows a similar structure to Connect 4, where students answer lesson review questions to place their team’s cards on a game board. The first team to connect four cards in a row—horizontally, vertically, or diagonally—wins the game!

This game works with any subject—Bible lessons, history, science, math, grammar—you name it!

How to Play Leopards Vs. Lizards

Setting up and playing the game is easy:

  1. Create a game board – Draw a 4-column x 5-row grid on a whiteboard or chalkboard.
  2. Divide your class into two teams – One team is the Leopards, the other is the Lizards.
  3. Ask review questions – Take turns asking questions related to your lesson.
  4. Earn a card for a correct answer – When a team answers correctly, a student from that team gets to place a card on the board, starting from the bottom row and stacking up in each column.
  5. First team to connect four wins! – Just like Connect 4, teams must be strategic in placing their cards while blocking their opponent!

🎯 Teacher Tip: Encourage individual students to participate by allowing the student who answers a question correctly to place the card on the board. You could also allow the teams to discuss the answer before answering. If teams answer the questions as a team, have different students come forward to place the card on the board. This allows all students to participate, even students who might be new to class or less outgoing.
