Bible Lesson Review Game for Kids: Looking for a high-energy, low-prep way to review your Bible lesson? Try this fun and active game that gets kids moving and thinking! It’s simple to set up and guaranteed to become one of your students’ favorite games.

Ages: 2nd Grade and Up
Perfect For: Sunday School, Bible Clubs, or Christian Classrooms
This game works best with two adults – one to ask the questions and get the answer, the other to monitor the hula hoop course.
What You’ll Need for this Bible Lesson Review Game:
- 6 Hula Hoops (check your local dollar store!)
- A list of challenging Bible review questions
(Questions with multiple word answers work best, such as “Name 8 of Jesus’ disciples”, “What are the four Gospels?” or “Say today’s memory verse”. Simple yes/no questions like “Was Peter a disciple?” do not work well.) - 2 pieces of masking tape, string, or paper to mark “Start” lines

Game Set-Up
- Create the Course:
Lay out the hula hoops in a winding or zig-zag line. Stagger them just far enough apart that students will have to jump from one to the next. - Mark Starting Lines:
Place a starting line at the beginning of the hula hoop course.

How to Play the Bible Lesson Review Game:
- Divide your group into two teams.
One team will be answering questions while the other team completes the hula hoop course. - Position the teams:
Have Team A line up at the start line, ready to go.
Team B stands near the teacher to answer the first review question. - Start the challenge:
Ask Team B a review question, then immediately shout “Go!” While Team B works to answer the question, Team A races through the hula hoop course. Only one child is allowed in each hoop at a time. Once the first person exits the first hoop, the next player may enter that hula hoop, and so on. (Think of this like baseball, where the hoops are the bases.) - Stop when the question is answered:
As soon as Team B finishes giving the correct answer, the teacher yells “Stop!” Count how many of Team A’s players made it all the way through the course before the stop. That’s their score for the round! - Switch the Roles:
Now it’s Team A’s turn to answer a question while Team B runs the course. - Keep alternating:
Continue until each team has answered 5-8 questions, or until you run out of time.

Game Tips and Variations for the Hula Hoop Home Run Bible Lesson Review Game:
If you are playing with very young kids, keep the game simple. But, if your kids are doing well with this game, you can add some variations!
- Mix It Up:
Add a twist by requiring kids to hop on one foot (move the hoops close together), jump with feet together (“bunny hops”), or alternate left and right feet as they go through the course. - Bonus Round:
Make the final round worth double points or allow teams to “steal” a point if they can answer the other team’s question after a wrong answer. - Memory Verse Power-Up:
Let a team skip one hula hoop per round if they can recite the full memory verse without mistakes.

This game works great to burn off energy and get in some serious Bible lesson review. It’s especially fun after sitting still for a while during the lesson time.
Let me know in the comments how it goes in your class or if you use any fun variations. I would love to hear from you!
May God bless you!
