As a Bible teacher or parent, you want your kids to love reading and exploring God’s Word. You want them to be able to find favorite Bible stories, re-read comforting verses reminding them of God’s promises, and confidently look Bible passages up in church and at home.

But, in order to do this in a physical Bible, your kids will need to know the books of the Bible in order. And, for many kids, that will start with the books of the New Testament.

One of the challenges of helping kids memorize the books of the New Testament in order is that the names of the books are unfamiliar. Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John are easier, but Galatians, Ephesians, Philippians, and Colossians? Your kids may feel like they are trying to memorize words they don’t even know.

Here’s a great way to help your kids become familiar with the names of the Books of the New Testament – a New Testament Wordsearch!

This free New Testament Wordsearch features the names of the books of the New Testament in order. Your kids can work down through the list, finding each book name in the wordsearch puzzle.

They’re not finished when they’ve found all the names, though! Once they find the names of the books of the New Testament, they can use the remaining letters in the puzzle to discover a secret message!

The hidden message says, “…But these are written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.” John 20:31

It is so important for kids to become familiar with the books of the New Testament so they can easily find Bible passages for themselves. Ultimately, though, we don’t want more “Bible knowledge” for our kids. We want them to come to know Jesus Christ as their personal Savior so that they may have life in His name.

I hope and pray that this free New Testament Wordsearch Activity Page will help you as you share a love for God’s Word with your kids.

I would love to hear how you use this. If you would like to comment, please scroll down.

May God bless you!

We are a small congregation and so we don’t have helpers right now but I believe they are on their way so in the meantime I am trying to fill in the shoes best I can and I believe this is going to be a big blessing when it comes to Sunday School!
