The New Testament is the second part of the Bible, consisting of 27 books that offer guidance, teachings, and accounts of the life and ministry of Jesus Christ. It includes the four Gospels, which present different perspectives on Jesus’ life, as well as the Epistles, Acts of the Apostles, and the book of Revelation. While the Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John) are named for the authors, the Epistles (letters to churches and individuals) are named for the individuals or towns the recipients lived in (such as Galatians, Ephesians, Philippians, and Colossians!) These unfamiliar words can get confusing for kids who are trying to memorize them in order!
